Samaritas Residential Acquisitions: Featured on MLive
MLive recently featured MOKA's acquisition of five adult foster care homes from Samaritas. The article highlights how this transition allows people served to remain in their homes with uninterrupted support, while also bringing experienced team members into the MOKA community. With four homes already transitioned and the fifth nearing completion, this step marks meaningful growth in our residential services.

We’ve partnered with The Diatribe to offer a creative writing course for Direct Support Professionals. The course brings together DSPs from both inside and outside of MOKA, providing a supportive space to express themselves and work through the unique stresses of their roles. We’re proud to help caregivers nurture their well-being through creativity.
early dementia detection: New Blog Highlights Wege Foundation's Grant Impact
With support from a Wege Foundation grant, MOKA launched a collaborative effort to improve early dementia detection for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Working alongside the Alzheimer’s Association, NTG, and the Down Syndrome Association, we trained caregivers, integrated screening tools, and strengthened referral pathways. Together, we’re building a more informed, responsive system of support.
