This year, I stepped fully into a dream and long-held goal, one I've carried in my heart for almost 20 years.

I was accepted into the Ayurvedic Institute’s full-time Ayurvedic Studies Program. Not only did I become a full-time student, but I also had the incredible opportunity to study deeply with Dr. Vasant Lad.

It’s been a huge commitment, navigating live classes in a different time zone, like Anatomy and Physiology running until 11 PM. I had to pause my Sound Journeys and step back from work due to the time demands of the program. I sacrificed travel, time with the CNY community, and longer family visits. I’ve also spent weeks away from my husband and stepdaughter to attend in-person sessions.

But it has all been worth it.

It had always been a dream of mine to be part of Dr. Lad’s three-year program, but for many years the timing never felt right. I had obligations running my yoga center and couldn’t move to New Mexico for three years.

Then in 2020, everything shifted. The Ayurvedic Institute moved to Asheville, NC, and began offering the program in a hybrid format, a dream come true. I began by taking online seminars with Dr. Ladji over the past few years, and finally, last September, I stepped into the full-time program.

I’m deeply grateful to my parents, my husband, and all the friends who offered places to stay, encouragement, and countless forms of support along the way.

Some dreams take longer to blossom. There are delays, detours, and doubts. But trust in the timing. Trust that even the smallest spark can keep your dream alive until one day, the conditions are just right, and the flame returns.
