In my 28 years as a chiropractor, I had never experienced low back pain—so this was more than just discomfort. I had all the classic signs of an L5 disc bulge: searing, knife-like pain with movement, a deep dull ache that never let up, and stiffness so bad it took me five minutes to put on socks. Each morning felt like starting over, as if I were stuck in some version of The Truman Show—reset, repeat, pain.
Somehow, I managed to keep working. But every evening, I would collapse into bed. Recovery from a disc bulge typically takes months, and the prognosis can be even worse depending on how long it’s been building or how bad the damage is. Yet by God’s grace, and with the healing protocol I’m about to share with you, I was fully restored—pain-free and back to my normal life—within 28 days
HERE'S WHAT I DID (AND WOULDN'T DO AGAIN):
DON'T DO THIS:
1. Ignore the Warning Signs – I had allowed bad habits to creep in, pushing my body beyond its limit. That was unsustainable and dangerous.
2. Reach for Pain Meds – Though I was tempted, I avoided medications—even when the pain made me feel like I’d take an epidural if offered. Meds often mask the issue and delay true healing.
3. Blame Anyone (or Anything) – Bitterness blocks healing. I chose to take responsibility and let go of frustration. It freed me to focus on recovery.
1. Consistent Chiropractic Care – I stayed on track with my adjustments. Chiropractic is still the backbone of spinal healing.
2. Bioflex Cold Laser Therapy – Jessika and Silke treated me 2–3 times a week with a focused low back protocol. It was a game changer for reducing inflammation and accelerating tissue repair. - INFO HERE
3. Hydrated with Pink Salt Water – Mineral-rich hydration helped reduce inflammation and supported nerve function.
4. Modified My Sleep Posture – I used a pillow between my legs while sleeping on my side, and under my knees when on my back. (Sleep was scarce, but this helped.)
5. Cut Out Caffeine and Processed Protein Bars – I didn’t realize how much these were disrupting my recovery. Removing them made a difference.
7. Natural Calm Magnesium, Omega-3 Fish Oils, and Immunocal – Magnesium helped calm my nervous system and gently relaxed tight muscles. High-quality fish oils supported inflammation reduction and joint health. Immunocal, taken twice daily, provided the building blocks for glutathione, the body’s master antioxidant, which was key for cellular repair and immune support. - VIEW SHOP
7. Stopped All Exercise (Except Gentle Walking) – No gym, no rebounder. Just slow, barefoot walks in the backyard every morning to stay gently mobile.
8. Asked for Prayer – I can’t overstate the power of prayer. This journey reminded me of my deep need for God and community.
