JOIN ME FOR A SOCIAL MEDIA SUMMER BREAK!

The Social Media Summer Break is a free and flexible 3 week challenge where we'll be taking a break from apps, screens, and tech and re-evaluating our relationships with it. It begins on July 13th and ends August 3rd.

My intention is to provide some loose structure and guidance, share ideas and ways to stay motivated and inspired, and be your accountability buddy. You will be deciding how intense you want it to be, what apps and how much of it you want to take a break from, and tapping into what works best for you!

Here are some of the things I'll be offering during this break:
  • Prep emails before the challenge tp help us get clear and organized as well as ideas on what to do during these 3 weeks
  • Short emails Mon-Fri throughout the challenge with an encouraging quote, idea to try, journal prompt, etc. (these will take less than 5 minutes to read.)
  • 21 Every Days Art Project instruction and prompts (this is a mini version of my recent 100 Day Project!)
  • Snail Mail Swap (more details on this coming soon)
  • Free PDF checklist that you can print and fill out with the things you want to prioritize during this break
  • Free Calendar PDF for the break
If you've already signed up for the SMSB, you don't need to take any further action.
The first prep email will be sent out tomorrow or the day after you sign up and the second one the day after that.

If you haven't signed up yet, you can sign up for SMSB OR if you are interested in just the
21 Every Days Project, you can sign up to receive only the prompts for that.

If you have any questions, please hit reply and let me know, I will be happy to help!

I have had the idea to take a break from social media for a while now--it started because I was curious what would happen if I took the time I used online and spent it in a different way. Would it create more time and space for me to do other things that I never seem to have time for? Or would it not even make a difference? How can I be more intentional with my phone and apps? I know I do much better when I have accountability so I hope you'll join me if this idea resonates with you!

It's kind of funny because I recently wrapped up my 100 Day Project which means I have been posting constantly for the last 100 days! Some people might say that since the posts created a lot of momentum and connection that I should keep on posting daily--that it's counterintuitive to take a break and drop off. But it's not sustainable for me to do that--it's too much! So I'm going with what feels right and even though there's a small part of me that feels a tiny bit nervous about stepping back, I think I will come back with more energy, excitement, and interesting content to share over there.

Wishing you a summer with less screens and more things that bring you meaning and joy.

Take care and talk to you soon,

PS: I did take a break a few years ago from Instagram and didn't use it for a month or two. During that time I focused on my newsletter and really got clear and consistent with it! When I look back, that break did not have any negative effects and I ended up creating a newsletter I really enjoy writing! If you're worried being offline will hurt your social media especially because it's work related (which I get!) I touch on this in the prep email and include a few different options you can try.

PPS: Here's my finished 2025 100 Day Project! You can watch the tape peel here and a recap of the entire project here :)
