Hello First name / friend!

A quick exciting update!  Which has NOTHING to do with todays topic!

Kenya Small Group Safari ( 10 spots) will be ready this week.   Please email me if you want to be on the waitlist for full details.  We will be returning to Kenya September 2026.   If those dates do not work for you, I can create the same itinerary in 2026.

Now lets turn our sights to Montenegro.

If you’ve been dreaming of a European escape that’s equal parts coastal beauty, medieval towns, and off-the-radar cool — Montenegro is calling.

With its fjord-like bays and dramatic coastline dotted with yachts and walled cities, Montenegro feels like the Mediterranean… before the crowds caught on. It’s got the glamour of the Riviera and the soul of the Balkans.

Here’s what you’ll find on this small but spectacular slice of the Adriatic:

📍 Ancient towns like Kotor
📍 Beaches and boat clubs along the Budva Riviera — glamorous, golden, and    surprisingly accessible
📍 National parks, glacial lakes, and dramatic mountains
📍 Local wine, coastal cuisine, and just enough to keep things interesting

If you're craving a European getaway that’s stylish but unspoiled, read on for when to go, what to see — and how to make it all effortless from start to finish.
XO, Jackie

PLANNING YOUR VISIT
If you're wondering when to visit...

Montenegro’s charm changes with the seasons — here’s how to time your trip just right.

🌤️ Spring (May–June): One of the best times to visit. Mild temps, blooming landscapes, and far fewer crowds than summer. A perfect time for hiking, boating, or slow mornings in old towns.

🌞 Summer (July–August): Peak season along the coast. The weather is hot, the beaches are buzzing, and the yacht scene is in full swing. Great for nightlife and energy — and crowds.

🍇 Fall (September–October): A sweet spot with warm weather, fewer tourists, and harvest season in the wine regions. Coastal towns stay lively, and national parks are perfect for outdoor adventures.  Yacht charters are available  thru mid September.

🌧️ Winter (November–March): Much quieter and chillier, especially inland. Best for travelers interested in skiing and  local culture.

If you're wondering how long to stay...

Give yourself 7-10 days to slow down and truly take it in. That’s enough time to explore Montenegro’s coast, venture inland to the mountains or wine country, and still have space for lazy breakfasts and sunset sails.  Also plenty of time to combine with neighboring Croatia.

If you're wondering when to book this type of trip...

For summer and early fall travel, 4 to 6 months ahead is ideal. Want to do a grab some friends and do a yacht charter?  (Trust me, you do. We loved it and it is not as expensive as you think) 10 months

Many of Montenegro’s best stays are boutique, and spots in Kotor and Budva fill quickly — especially for waterfront views or charming Old Town stays.
Must Visit Spots
MONTENEGRO MUST-SEE SPOTS
Bay of Kotor: This bay is the heart of coastal Montenegro. Wander the cobblestone streets of Kotor, cruise past tiny islands, and visit the charming village of Perast for jaw-dropping views.

Budva Riviera: Montenegro’s lively beach scene lives here. Expect a mix of history, nightlife, and waterfront charm — plus beach clubs and seafood restaurants with unbeatable sunset views.

Durmitor National Park: For travelers craving adventure. This mountainous region is full of hiking trails, glacial lakes, and epic drives (like the Tara River Canyon, Europe’s deepest gorge).

Lake Skadar: Montenegro’s wine and nature region. Spend an afternoon cruising the lake, tasting Vranac wine at family-run vineyards, and watching wild pelicans take flight.
Montenegro is small, stunning, and surprisingly complex — here's how I help make your trip easy:

Seamless pairings: Montenegro pairs beautifully with Croatia, Albania, or even northern Italy. I’ll build a multi-country itinerary that flows naturally from one experience to the next.

Access to hidden gems: From private boats to local wine tastings, I help you skip the tourist traps and tap into Montenegro’s lesser-known magic.

Logistics handled: Ferry schedules, border crossings, mountain roads — Montenegro’s a dream to explore, but it takes strategy. I’ll take care of every moving part, so you can stay in vacation mode.
