❖ Summer is officially here! The days are longer, the evenings softer, and the world feels a little more magical (or maybe that’s just me dreaming up new tales at my desk). Whether you’re reading in a shady spot, adventuring near or far, or just enjoying a well-earned iced tea, I hope this season brings you joy ✨ and plenty of good books!

 

❖ Speaking of adventures, if you’re in the Los Angeles area this Saturday, June 28th, I’d be delighted if you’d join us at the Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library. P.J. and I will be on a panel at 11 AM in the Friends Room, chatting about writing and books. We're joined by two LA indie bookstore owners and a librarian. 

 

We're looking forward to this fantastic opportunity to meet new readers, connect with friends, and celebrate the magic of stories. And yes, we’ll be around afterward to say hello!

❖ On the writing front, after my little break, Devastation (Book 9) is coming along. Some days the words flow like a clear stream; other days, like a slow, determined trickle. But forward is forward! 

 

I can’t wait to share more of Omen and Tormy's journey with you. And I’m having fun exploring those quieter moments between the epic battles —when Omen, Kyr, and the family simply live, laugh, and try (with mixed success) to keep the cats out of trouble.

On a personal note, P.J. and I recently celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary by renewing our vows. We were so happy to gather with friends and family for the occasion — and here’s a fun little detail: we wore the very same wedding attire from twenty years ago! It was a joyful, heartwarming day, and one we’ll treasure always.
