Hola First name / pilgrim 👋
👣💙💛💙👣
What a joy it was to spend a couple of weeks helping out pilgrims at Miraz. I met some wonderful people ☺️ AND had a bright idea 🤦‍♀️!!!!!

I did some past life work with a lady called Amada Peet from Mind your Mind just over 2 years ago and in a former life I used to live up in the mountains on the Camino Primitivo. Here to be exact…

…with my husband, who I had found on a trip to Kasakhstan on a horse, and six children. I was cooking for  pilgrims there!

I knew I had been here before.

So in Miraz I thought I would drive there in Bruno (my campervan) after and go and see the place, but something felt wrong.

After a bit of a woo woo time with a couple of lovely pilgrims exploring our dragons I realized…

… I was meant to visit there but I needed to walk there.

After a chat to Juan Carlos it fell into place. He said - you are walking from your current home to your old home. That was it!

So after getting back on Thursday afternoon - via Decathlon to buy some gear I spent Friday and Saturday planning and plotting.

I am going to go on the Camino de las Asturias, which the Camino Association in Álava, and the lovely Rosa, have the most information on - check out here http://www.alavacaminodesantiago.org/es/asturias.asp.

I will leave from my home in Vitoria-Gasteiz and follow this route which crosses a few better known ways, then continue on the Primitivo for 4-5 days to my old home. It's the brown then pink routes on this map…

So here it is. My route with very little infrastructure and no markings in many places too. It's going to be a challenge as I will be sleeping in church porches often and asking to buy food and get support from locals where there are no services. Much heavier bag for this one too. I'm 9.35kgs without water and food!

578km with just over 12,000m up and down in around 23 days.

What an adventure!!!

I am also planning on starting Book 2 on this trip - The Inner Journey as I explore on my journey back in time.

I hope to be posting on YouTube and maybe socials, but that may not happen. I will see how I feel. I like to share and it helps me feel supported on these solitary Caminos, but it can also become a real distraction so no promises.

More when I check in next 😊
