Wicked Plant Art Journal - now Available! |
What drives a curious botanist to fill a journal with notes, sketches, and bits of ephemera about plants like Belladonna, Hemlock, Poppies, and Foxglove? Are these plants friend or foe? Beautiful yet deadly, these species have long fascinated scientists, artists, and writers alike. Inside, you’ll find full-color photographs of my collages featuring 19 notorious plants, including: Belladonna, Dieffenbachia, Foxglove, Hellebore, Hemlock, Henbane, Hydrangea, Mandrake, Mullein, Oleander, Poison Ivy, Poppy, Rue, Stinging Nettle, Venus Flytrap, Voodoo Lily, Wolfsbane, Wormwood, and Yarrow. The journal includes a creative mix of lined and blank pages—ideal for writing poetry, field notes, dreams, sketches, or even your own botanical obsessions. As a bonus, it also includes a keepsake print of my “Show You The Stars” collage. Measuring 8×10 inches with 85 full-color pages and a soft, lightweight cover, it’s perfect for slipping into your bag or backpack—ready whenever inspiration strikes. |

Inspiration Everywhere! Green Apples, Purple Honey & Blue Ghosts |
I just rewatched “ Stranger than Fiction” and was reminded why I love it so much. It’s a film about a writer—but also about how stories shape lives, sometimes in unexpected ways. While clearly fiction, the movie transitions between reality and imagination. It makes you think about authorship, fate, and the creative process. I highly recommend watching if you’re in the mood for something artsy, thoughtful, and a little bit magical. |

In a quiet corner of North Carolina, bees produce a violet-hued honey so rare and unpredictable that even experts can't explain it – and that's what makes it magical. |
Eight months after Hurricane Helene devastated areas of North Carolina, locals hope their rarest residents – glowing "blue ghost" fireflies – can help bring visitors back. |

Artsy project Update - Tarot Cards |
I’ve decided to create this Tarot Deck digitally, working with my laptop and software instead of my usual tools. While I miss the feel of paint, paper, and mixed media, this approach is more forgiving—and revisions are much easier to manage. So far, I’ve gathered 20 of the 22 images for the major arcana cards. Not yet sure how I will incorporate the missing “Sun” and “Moon" but I will keep you posted as the project progresses. Thank you for following along! |

Are you working on a fun project (artsy or otherwise)? I'd love to hear about it and include it in a future update. Got a question for me? I will reply back or answer it in a future update. |
