Following an exciting 12 months of increasingly impactful funding for nature and preparation for a step change in the way it works, the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) is delighted to publish its 2024 Impact Report.
Together with over 130 members, the association has funded over 206 projects in 65countries worldwide, to the tune of €5.7 million, since it started in 2006. In a year when it was highlighted by the WWF State of Nature report that wildlife populations have declined on average by 73% in the last 50 years, the loss of the vital connection of people to nature was underlined as a main driver of this unwelcome statistic.
As conservation funding from EOCA stretched across 15 countries in 2024, the association welcomed new members, celebrated the 10th anniversary of its Sustaining Member programme and drove discussions about the importance of biodiversity, putting nature at the heart of business and the future of the two together.
