Before we talk about food and the good things in life, I want to take a minute to acknowledge the unfathomable pain that some parents are going through in Texas. Let's pray for the people affected by this tragedy, those who have lost children, friends, or other family members, and for their community.
"Dear Heavenly Father, we lift up all those affected by the flooding in Texas. We pray for Your comfort to surround the families who have lost loved ones, and for Your peace to fill the hearts of all who are grieving. Be near to those who have lost their homes and belongings, and provide for their immediate needs.
We ask for Your protection over the rescue workers and volunteers who are serving others in dangerous conditions. Give them strength, safety, and endurance as they help their neighbors. Lord, we know that You are close, even when we don't feel Your Presence. We pray that You will wrap Your arms around the community, and let them feel Your love through those who are there to help, as well as the many prayers being lifted up now. We trust in Your goodness and faithfulness, even when we don't understand, and we pray for healing in the days ahead. We ask this all in Jesus' Holy Name, AMEN."
