It's almost time--this is the last prep email! It includes a quick recap of things you can download and do before we start, link to a snail mail postcard swap I'm hosting, and some details on the daily emails you'll be receiving. Thank you so much for joining me--I am very excited and feel (mostly :)) ready for it! |
|
SMSB LIBRARY: At the footer of each email is a link to the SMSB Library. All past emails that have been sent out can be found here as well as the PDFs. Here's the link as well in case you want to bookmark it. CALENDAR & LIST DOWNLOAD: You can find both these downloads in the library. They are optional but might come in handy. The list is also an activity you can do with the time you're off social media :) I finished filling mine out and am ready to check these items off! |
|
GET READY: A few helpful things to do before we get started. If you'd like more details, please refer back to the previous prep emails. - Get clear on your why and think of things that will replace apps/tech
- Have a general idea of what you'd like to stop using / exceptions / what your parameters are / what your approach will be
- Create sections for your 21 Every Days canvas (if you are participating)
- Gather / get any supplies you may need for some of the things you'll be doing during the break (art supplies, postage stamps and cards, books to read, etc.)
- Start making plans, signing up for workshops, etc.
- Start changing notification settings, deleting apps, setting reminders, etc.

CREATE WITH LAYERS VIRTUAL WORKSHOP |
|
In this free 30 minute workshop, I will walk you through making a mixed media piece using layers with writing tools, paint, and paper. (You can also do this on a loose piece of paper then cut it to size to add to your 21 Every Days project :)) It'll take place on Sunday, July 27th from 11:30AM - Noon PST. All the details as well as the supply list is in the link below. If you are interested, be sure to RSVP: |
|
You'll begin receiving short emails--Monday through Friday and on Day 1--for a little burst of inspiration and accountability :) On Fridays, the email will also include Saturdays and Sundays. The 21 Every Days daily prompts will be included as well! These emails will be quick to read (think a few minutes in the morning) to provide a little something to help you navigate through your day. Please note that everything is optional so it's up to you whether you'd like read it / use it or not! Each week has it's own theme and it's inspired by the idea of reclaiming things that apps and tech may have distracted us from: WEEK 1: TAKE ACTION WEEK 2: NOTICE WHAT'S AROUND US WEEK 3: USE OUR SENSES |

I saw this the other day and wanted to wrap up by sharing these numbers: 1 hour on your phone a day = 15 days a year 2 hours = 30 days a year 3 hours = 45 days a year 4 hours = 61 days a year 5 hours = 76 days a year 6 hours = 91 days a year 7 hours = 106 days a year It's amazing to think about the days we could be gaining by being on our phone a little less! Looking forward to starting this break--talk to you on Sunday, July 13th, Day 1! |

PPS: Need some more ideas on what to do during the break? Here are a few from Richard Scarry and friends :) |
