Dear First name / Reader
Summer is in full force here in the Southern California desert. Weāve been hitting highs of 117Ā°F! š
I live near Palm Springs, and the heat is intense, but in a dry climate, the mornings are still manageable. Weāve been taking walks when itās āonlyā 88 or 90 degrees (you know itās bad when that feels refreshing). Thereās something kind of magical about early morning desert light, thoughāquiet, still, golden.
Iāve also been thinking a lot about the people in Texas and other areas affected by recent flooding. My heart goes out to everyone impacted. Itās hard to hold both the beauty of summer and the heartbreak of disaster at the same timeābut Iām trying to do just that.
The good news?
My pregnancy nausea has finally eased up (thank you, science and second trimester), and Iāve been writing a lot. Iām working on a new book I hope to finish and release soon, and itās been such a joy to feel like myself creatively again.
