As you read this, I’m putting the finishing touches of my suitcase together for a long awaited tropical escape with my husband! I'm stowing away a stack of beach reads, breezy caftans, and, of course, a few bottles of SPF 70. This particular resort has been on my bucket list for years, and I can’t wait to share all the dreamy details when I return.
But before I fully step away for vacay, I’d be remiss not to acknowledge the tenderness in my heart these past few days over the tragic news coming out of Texas, and, specifically, Camp Mystic. As someone who grew up going to summer camp—who lived for those carefree days of girlhood—it’s been especially painful to witness that loss of innocence these campers and the counselors are experiencing, far too young. My heart breaks for those families impacted and the communities holding each other through unimaginable loss.
So while this week ahead surely bring sunshine and laughter and rest, it also brings quiet reflection. Wherever you are, I hope you hold your people a little closer this week—whether that means a real hug or simply a quiet moment of connection in your heart.
