Lately I’ve been thinking about how often I trace the same ideas again and again across different containers—my notebook, my notes app, my morning voice memos, the same photo of Lake Michigan I have taken a million times but the light hits it in a different way each time. It’s not repetition exactly. It’s return. It’s pattern. It’s how I know I’m paying attention.

Sometimes I don’t even realize a project has started until it’s already halfway formed—stitched together from scraps of noticing I thought were just passing through.
What if the beginnings of your next project already live inside your notes app?
What if your phone photos, your morning pages, your voice memos, your unfinished blog drafts are already the material?

Witnessing Practice is a one-day online class about how to begin.

How to notice what’s already here.
How to treat your own attention as a kind of devotion.
How to shape small, personal archives into public projects—on your terms, without the pressure to perform, scale, or polish.

We’ll explore how to turn the ephemeral into the tangible—how to gather your fragments into something touchable. A booklet, a zine, a self-published container that lets your work exist in the world with integrity and care. No gatekeepers. No algorithms. Just your own way of naming what you’ve seen.

✸ Saturday, July 19
🕐  Live on Zoom from 12-3PM EST
🖱️  With a replay for those who can't attend live

This is not a class about marketing. It’s about making.
It’s about letting the material you already have guide the form.
We’ll map our notes.
We’ll reflect on our methods.
We’ll make little starts.
We’ll practice presence.

If you’ve been feeling stuck, unsure where to begin, or holding a creative idea close to your chest—this is for you.

Warmly,
Cody
