Are you ready for Rochester?
Just checking in: we know you are busy enjoying your summer and preparing to travel to campus next month, but don't forget to complete Rochester Ready, your online orientation program! All components must be completed by Saturday, August 16.

Arrival and move-in details are now available!

Details and instructions for your selected arrival day are now available on our website. Make sure to read the instructions carefully, as they are based on what transportation method you will be using to arrive on campus: by University-sponsored shuttle bus, taxi/Uber/Lyft/hotel shuttle, or driving yourself.

Commuter students: if you are living off-campus, review the instructions here for arriving to campus and checking in on Tuesday, August 19.

Both arrival days consist of three required check-in steps:

1. Residential Life check-in & move-in (residential students only): You'll pick up your room key, room information, and move your belongings into your room.

2. Welcome Week check-in: You'll pick up your campus ID card, Welcome Week wristband and t-shirt, welcome bag, mailbox information, and check in with the orientation team. Local banks and national phone carriers will also be available, in case you need to set up a Rochester-area bank account or U.S. phone plan.

3. UR Essentials textbook pick-up: You'll head to the University bookstore in College Town to pick up your required textbooks and course materials, provided you've completed the UR Essentials portal registration and the bookstore has confirmed your items are ready for pick-up.

Interested in completing a community service project during Fall Welcome Week? Registration for the annual Wilson Day of Engagement is open on a first-come, first-served basis on the Fall Welcome Week registration form.

While the form isn't due until Monday, August 4, spots in the program are limited, so make sure to complete your registration form as soon as possible to indicate your interest. If you've already completed your form and would like to amend your response about participating in Wilson Day, email us at orientation@rochester.edu.

Arriving to campus from outside the U.S.?
If you're arriving to campus from a location outside the U.S., you can purchase a dorm pack to make sure you have linens for your first few nights on campus. Dorm packs include one pillow, one blanket, one twin XL sheet set (includes one fitted sheet, one flat sheet, and one pillowcase), one laundry bag, and one bath towel.

Supply is limited, so make sure to indicate your interest on the Welcome Week registration form by Monday, August 4 at the latest. You will receive an email in mid-August to confirm that a dorm pack will be available upon your arrival. If you've already completed your form and would like to amend your response about dorm packs, email us at orientation@rochester.edu

Don't forget to submit a photo for your ID card!
In order to have your campus ID card available for pickup on your arrival day, you will need to submit a photo of yourself to be printed on your card by Friday, August 1.

Earlier this summer, you should have received an email from the ID Office with instructions for submitting a photo through the CloudCard system. (The email was sent from id-photo-submissions@notices.rochester.edu.)

If you do not submit a photo by Friday, August 1, you will need to visit the ID Office on your arrival day to have your photo taken and your ID card printed on-site, which may result in long wait times. If you have questions or need the email re-sent, please reach out to ID Services at (585) 275-3975.
