WEEK 1 | TAKE ACTION | DAY 6

Play!
When was the last time you played? Purely doing something for the fun of it, not worried about the results or a deadline or what needs to get done later, completely immersed in the process and enjoying yourself?

Whether your answer is yesterday or a month ago or you're not sure, I think it's always OK to have more of it in our lives! Play can help release endorphins, improve brain functionality and memory, and help us feel energetic.

Make time to embrace play today and every day after: go to the park and get on the swings, have a game night, throw around a frisbee, play with your companion animals and your kiddos, go singing and dancing--whatever sounds fun and good to you!

21 EVERY DAYS

What materials do you want to play around with? What techniques remind you of play? What would make today's section feel the most fun to create? Here are a few ideas you could try…
  • Finger paint
  • Try a kid's art project (think back to some of the arts and crafts you did as a kid, find inspo from your little one's projects, or do a quick search on Pinterest)
  • Mix liquid dish detergent with water and paint (I start with a little then add more of each ingredient until I'm happy with the color and consistency of the soapy water) then use it to blow bubbles and add them to your section
  • Use stickers and other arts and crafts supplies like pipe cleaners, glue, and construction paper--as well as your imagination!
Most importantly let go and have fun with it!

Happy Friday! Have a great start to your weekend. Talk to you tomorrow,

PS: I was originally planning on grouping the weekend prompts with Friday to decrease the number of emails but I like that each one is short to read so will be proceeding with a prompt email a day :)

PPS: This was one of my favorite toys to play with when I was little! I loved creating different scenes, figuring out how the shapes could go together, and make so many different images. Did anyone else play with this?? I haven't met anyone who has known what I was talking about lol
