Yes, getting ready is fun… but getting “un-ready” is just as important, if not more so! Properly removing your makeup is a crucial (and often overlooked) step in any skincare routine. Your products can’t effectively work their magic if they’re layered over leftover makeup, stubborn sunscreen, and daily buildup. I’ve tried countless makeup removers over the years, but nothing has worked as well as this 3-step cleansing system!

I’ll Cut to the Chase…
For those of you who prefer quick and to the point, here’s brief overview of the cleansing order that’s changed my nighttime routine:
It’s seriously as easy as 1 2 3!
My Nighttime Cleansing Routine
Believe me when I say, my skin has NEVER felt more clean and free of daily buildup than it does after this routine.

Massage an almond-sized amount of this cleansing balm to dry skin using circular motions. The balm gently melts away sunscreen, makeup (even mascara), and other impurities. Rinse thoroughly. I’m seriously obsessed with this balm, it feels so good going on and removes makeup without drying my skin out. It’s unlike any other product I’ve tried!

I know adding oil to your face sounds counterintuitive, but oil is extremely effective in breaking down makeup! The F72 Corrective Cleansing Oil is an oil-based cleanser that’s packed with nourishing and calming ingredients. Massage this oil onto dry skin to dissolve remaining makeup and pollutants, adding a splash of water at the end to emulsify the oil. More on the double cleansing method below!

Finish by washing your face with the F71 Corrective Cleansing Gel for a deep cleanse. During this step I focus on removing any residual oil and dirt from previous steps. Afterwards, dry your face and continue with your usual nighttime skincare routine! I’ve found that this routine really allows my skin to fully absorb my skincare and enjoy all of the benefits.

What is Double Cleansing?
I was initially skeptical about the double cleansing method, but after seeing the results for myself, I can’t believe I didn’t start sooner!

The benefit of double cleansing in the evening is that the first cleanse with an oil-based cleanser will break down makeup, remove dirt and excess oils from the day, and clean the surface of your skin. The second cleaning with a gel cleanser helps take care of the stuff you might not see with the naked eye, such as pollutants and debris, to tackle impurities that are deeper down. Even if you don’t wear makeup or SPF, our skin accumulates enough impurities by the end of the day to merit a double cleanse (think sweat, pollutants, etc.,)!
