Dear First name / Reader
Let’s talk about books—not just the ones I write, but the ones we all read.
Lately, I’ve been thinking about how much my own reading habits have changed. I used to force myself to finish every book I picked up, even if I wasn’t enjoying it. These days? Not anymore. If I’m not into it, I stop. No guilt. Life’s too short and the unread pile is way too tall.
So I’ve got a few questions for you, and I’d love to hear your answers:
Do you finish books you're not loving—or do you DNF them?
Are you a re-reader?
Do you prefer standalones or series?
And are you an ebook reader, physical book lover, or both?
For me? I’m a Kindle girl by the pool, but I still make regular trips to the library. I’ve been gravitating toward standalones lately, and I rarely re-read... though every now and then, a book sneaks its way back into my hands.
Now for something else I’m really excited to share…
If you’ve been following along, you know that Paper Trail, the immersive year-long thriller experience I created, is now live—and the response has been incredible.
So many of you have already ordered and experienced the first box, and honestly? My husband and I feeling so humbled, grateful, and just thrilled (pun intended) that readers are loving it.
If you’re not sure what Paper Trail is yet, here’s a quick intro:
It’s a story told through 24 long letters (which you get 2x per month), and 60+ physical clues like receipts, photos, yearbook pages, etc.
In 1997, an 11th grade girl named Mallory Crowe disappeared from the town of Hollow Creek. Now, years later, her friend is trying to put together the pieces and find out what really happened.
You’re not just reading a thriller. You’re experiencing it.
You can also find it on
the Deluxe Box page (which comes with exclusive AUDIO recordings between the characters and keepsakes related to the story).
And if you’ve already joined the trail... THANK YOU. Your support is what makes this project come alive, and I can’t wait to show you what’s next.
Hit reply and let me know your reading habits, or just say hi. You know I love hearing from you.
Best,
Kate 💙
