Summer Life at The Farm
Image item
Dear Farm Family,

As the heat of summer settles over South Georgia, life at The Farm continues to unfold with both grit and grace. From mischievous deer testing our patience and preparedness to the joyful arrival of new animals, every week brings fresh reminders of the beauty—and occasional unpredictability—of stewarding this land. Yet through it all, our Team & Owners remain resilient, purposeful, and deeply engaged. Whether you're already rooted here or still exploring what ownership might look like, this update offers a glimpse into what makes our community so special.

Growing Smarter:
Garden & Orchard News
Image item
From Niki & the Garden, Plant, and Orchard Team: Everything has been cleared from the greenhouse for a deep seasonal cleaning in preparation for our Fall plantings. The planting team is undergoing Aquaponics certification and will be leading the future development of our new aquaponics program, anticipated in 2026. The standing gardens soil has been renewed with compost and prepped for new irrigation and, most importantly, fencing upgrades. We are already seeing a beautiful summer yield in our second summer planting, located in the Orchard – our “In-Ground” Garden. It includes squash, cucumbers, eggplant, black-eyed peas, green beans, okra, peppers, and corn.

Additionally, the team has been discussing planting protective borders using turmeric, ginger, onions, and garlic. We are determined to get our arms around the deer pressure. Look….we don’t mind if they graze a little here and there, but they have taken way more than their share this year and brought their friends. The great news about our slowly welcoming more and more owners is that it gives us time to “scale” the farm’s food infrastructure, refine how and where we grow things, generate feedback from Owners so that we can meet everyone’s expectations and desires.

New Life & Milestones:
Animal Husbandry Update

From Lauren & the Animal Care Team: We recently welcomed a new calf into our herd, with two more expecting mothers due any day and eight more to follow. Our poultry population is healthy and fertile, evidenced by the booming arrival of 80 turkeys, 45 chickens, 50 guinea hens, and 20 geese. Our goats love their pasture, rocks, and toys.

Building the Future:
Infrastructure & Cabins

Major improvements are underway, including a new deer and critter protection fence surrounding the Standing Gardens. We're also upgrading water infrastructure and continuing to fine-tune our cabin construction process to ensure every home blends seamlessly with its natural surroundings. Below is one of our Barbados being constructed on Lot 25 in The Orchard – note how they are carefully nestled into the Olive Grove.

Our cabins in The Orchard are moving fast. For those considering ownership, we have an excellent option for nearly any price point. Our Mayhaw (spotlighted in our last Newsletter), comes in at a total of 1,380 SF and is nearly move-in ready, even including a generator – all you need is furniture and kitchen ware and you’re ready for farm life. Nicely equipped at $485,000. Reserve your cabin before it's too late.

Our most popular cabin so far is The Barbados. We have several sizes and options available within this model type. They range from a total of 1,870 SF to beyond 2,135 SF. This line begins at $585,000 and like the Mayhaw, it comes nicely appointed and ready to move in. We have included a few layout options below.

Cabin Owner Spotlight

Curtis Hazel, one of our Owners, is using his creative talents and time to build interpretive signage throughout The Farm. He and Jenny (his wife and soon to be featured) are so generous showing and hosting many prospects and other Owners. Here are a few fun photos of Curis and his handiwork.

“There’s nothing quite like walking out your front door to fresh eggs, okra, and the sound of guinea hens in the orchard. It’s the life I dreamed of—and more.” - Curtis Hazel
