This week, I felt like an author. Sometimes when I'm home alone, pounding away on the keyboard, even though I know I’m an author, it doesn’t hit quite the same as when a reader says, ‘I read that book.” 

It's honestly the coolest feeling in the world. And because I'm a people person, book signings are also loads of fun. Add in some book-themed cocktails and I'm skeptical it really can be called “work." Even better, I have another event this weekend in my hometown. Come say hello at Electric City Love Con this Saturday, August 2nd from 1:00 - 6:00 pm. Tickets are $25 and include a swag bag. And I'll have some swag too!

I’m in deep with Terran's story for Realm of Stone and Starlight (C.L. Mecca) and it has me thinking about how often history, and fantasy, hinges on secrets. From forbidden relics to whispered betrayals, I’m loving the tension between duty and desire. When I first plotted The Thief’s Countess…my debut and the book that launched a ten-book Border Series…I was drawn to that irresistible push and pull between duty and desire. Seven years later, it still lights me up. No major news on the histrom front just yet, but know that swords and seduction are never far from my thoughts.

Now that book #2 in The Bachelor Pact is out, can we talk about my favorite romance hero of all time that I've written? Beck is a playboy hero who makes a mean cocktail in Protected Hearts, a friends-to-lovers romance for the ages. And speaking of genres, I've put all of my favorites (and hopefully some of yours too) in the very first Mecca Romance Club mailer, coming in August. How cute is this trope vending machine?

Tide of Waves and Secrets, book #3 in the Heirs of Elydor series, is crashing in Sept. 16! Issa and Marek’s story brings ocean magic, slow-burn betrayal, and a legacy that could change Elydor forever. The cover’s out and the countdown’s on! No challenge this week as we've already had our week #4 and final piece of the quote, but if you're wondering why weeks three and four were both labeled “Week 2” I have a one word excuse for you: perimenopause. And it's NOT fun!
