TileWorks is the home of the Bucks County Renaissance Faire for a weekend of magic, adventure, comedy & fun for the whole family. Be amazed by professional shows on the four stages throughout each day! Explore the artisan marketplace with dozens of craft vendors. Enjoy a meal from the delicious food vendors, or sit down for a hearty drink at the locally sourced pub! Interact with one of the many strange characters of the village as you wander throughout the day. Test your skill at archery, axe-throwing, or dagger toss, or even battle a knight in one-on-one combat! All this awaits you and more!

Following in Rollo’s footprints and in the tradition of Henry C. Mercer, our staff will help your dog leave his forever footprint in a ceramic tile. Our staff will help you customize your tile. We will glaze and fire your paw print and let you know when your keepsake is ready for pick up. Click the link to schedule your time slot.

PHILLIPS, GRIER & FLINNER
LEVEL BEST BLUEGRASS BAND

Todd Phillips, David Grier and Matt Flinner are a New Grass instrumental string band from back in the day. They have recently reformed the trio and are the headliner for our final outdoor bluegrass concert in the courtyard.

Performing together with Level Best whose band members all sing like birds. Their harmonies are as captivating as the notes they play. Bring a pop-up, blanket, lawn chair, friends, and family and enjoy an afternoon of great of music on the lawn. We have food trucks, a bar, and all the magic of our historical site.

For the entire month of October, TileWorks will become a very haunted factory, complete with a creepy clay crypt, horrifying hallways, and bone chilling decorations, inside and out. Stay tuned for our special tours, events, and classes based on Halloween themes. We are partnering with BC Cares for the annual PumpkinFest on October 25 and 26. New this year is our partnership with Vampa to bring three days of special programs.

UPCOMING CLASSES

Whether you're a seasoned practitioner or new to pilates, join instructor Tricia Scheeler, owner of Flip Dog Pilates Studio in Doylestown, who will guide you through a series of exercises in this outdoor pilates session set in the arcaded courtyard of the historic TileWorks. Bring your mat, a water bottle and a desire to enhance your well being as you strengthen and stretch in a tranquil environment. This class is for all levels.

Evelyn Taylor Bonner, ceramic artist extraordinaire, is back
this fall for another underglaze transfer workshop. Whether you are new to ceramics or an experienced artist, Evelyn’s expertise and guidance will help you achieve stunning results. Using innovative techniques with underglaze transfers, students will make several plaque/tile-sized pieces inspired by the mystical magic of the season.

A half day workshop exploring primitive pottery techniques with Melissa "Mesa" Matarese. This is an opportunity to explore, expand & deepen our relationship with nature through wild clay with simple tools and local materials.

In this 6-session class, ceramic artist and instructor Tom Thomas will teach his classic gargoyle class. Tom spent some of his formative years working with clay at the Moravian Pottery and Tile Works. It sparked his interest in medieval design and dragons which were also a source of inspiration for Henry Mercer. The TileWorks studio is an inspiring space for your creations to be imagined and made. Your creatures will come to life as you are guided through hand building techniques that are accessible to beginners and advanced ceramists alike.

WILD BRICKS

Help us raise funds for a garden shed. Come by TileWorks this summer and decorate a brick made from our local Bucks County wild clay. We will use the bricks to build a patio and walkways for our Peace Garden. Can’t make it to TileWorks but still want to be part of the project? STREET TEAM

TileWorks participated in the 38th Annual Blueberry Festival at the historic Bethlehem Burnside Plantation for our first time. The Bethlehem area is laden with historic Mercer tiles in public places and private homes. Festival goers loved learning more about our Moravian tile and telling us about their tile installations. For our second consecutive year we exhibited at the Tinicum Arts Festival. It's great to celebrate the fine art and craft of our local community. We look forward to seeing you at the Doylestown Arts Festival in September and the Doylestown Farmer's Market in October.

Today we continue to glean inspiration from this heritage site to create more timeless beauty with our Moravian tiles.
