What better way to begin than with news of our recent Annual Achievement Awards? But what does achievement look like at Nova? People come to us for many reasons: to learn, to overcome challenges, to connect with others or to give back through their time and skills. So, for us, achievement is about effort, progress and the journey each individual takes.
From adult and young learners to clients, volunteers and partners, we came together to celebrate the many ways people grow, support one another and shape our shared community.
Well done to all and thank you to our friends at The Royal Parks for providing the perfect green gifts!
To the V&A for some…
Artistic Endeavours
People of all ages from our Family Programme took part in a series of three workshops with ceramicist Ciara Neufeldt, Adobe Creative Resident Artist at the Victoria & Albert Museum.
Exploring different mediums of art on tiles, there was plenty of intergenerational creativity shown as we covered themes such as abstract colour and form, storytelling and joy, mosaics and more.
To top it all off, there will be a public display of the work at the V&A in October and we can’t wait to see it.
To close this edition, we’re delighted to return to the theme of recognition with more award news to report.
At the recent Young K&C Awards, Nova scooped Best Work Supporting Training and Education for the second year running. We were also proud to receive a special mention for Best Work Empowering Youth Voice.
“These awards are a real testament to the hard work, care and commitment of the Family Programme team — and to the support and collaboration we receive from everyone across Nova. In a room full of inspiring nominees, it was clear just how much of a difference we’re making together.”
– Matthew Barnett, Head of Children, Young People and Families
Huge congratulations to the team and thank you to all who continue to make this work possible.
