WEEK 3 | CELEBRATE OUR SENSES | DAY 21
Celebrate!
We did it! 🥳 It's the last day of our social media break--can you believe it?

Whether you did everything you wanted to do, made small adjustments, or dipped in and out, I know there are many things that happened during these 3 weeks that are worth celebrating!

For some reason, the things we did wrong seem to get stuck in our minds or once we reach a goal we barely slow down and just keep going. Take time to reflect about everything that went right, the things you did that made you and/or others happy and joyful, the small and big things that make you feel proud of yourself.

You are worth celebrating and I think we all need to do it more often! :)

21 EVERY DAYS

Today, I honestly just want you to do whatever you want and what feels fun! :) Even though it's the last section of the project, there's no pressure to make it different or extra. Keep on doing what you've been doing and it's totally OK to keep it simple. If you'd like some suggestions for this section, here are a few:
  • Document what you're celebrating, an accomplishment you're proud of, a reflection of your last day of this break
  • If you had an idea for a past section that you didn't do but you're still thinking about, do that today
  • If you had a favorite technique, use it again today

Let's talk about what we've all been waiting for--FINALLY PEELING OFF THE TAPE! Before you start, here are a few tips that might come in handy:
  • Before peeling, I highly suggest taking a “before the tape peel" photo so you have that documented :) The tape almost becomes part of the project at this point since we've been looking at it all this time--it's nice to have a memory of this!
  • It's also fun to take a time lapse video of the peel if you want to set up your phone to do that!
  • You don't have to peel the tape off right away--I like letting the last section have it's own day and peel it the next day. I also TOTALLY get it if you are like, GIRL, I NEED TO TAKE IT OFF NOW! lol
  • PEEL SLOWLY! It's possible part of the tape got wet from paint or a little water seeped underneath or the paper itself had a blemish that could cause it to pull. Start in one corner and peel slowly at first. You will get a feel for if you're able to go faster or not.
  • IF YOUR TAPE ISN'T COMING OFF a trick I've seen is to use a blow dryer on it for a few moments to warm it up. This can help loosen the adhesive. Be careful not to get your paper too hot or bring the blow dryer too close to your project, be careful not to damage your project!
  • If some of the paper--like the top layer--starts accidentally coming off but is still attached, use a glue stick to put back the part that came off--usually you can't tell anything ever happened!
  • ENJOY THE SATISFACTION OF THE TAPE PEEL AND ADMIRE YOUR COMPLETED PROJECT!
  • Don't forget to take an “after” photo so you have both the “before” and “after” documented :) and take close up of details and sections you really like. Even if you don't plan on sharing it, it's nice to have for yourself.

I would LOVE to hear about your experiences with this break and see your projects! I'm hoping to send a final recap email in a week featuring what you share so don't worry if your project isn't completely done today, you have a little more time :) Tomorrow's wrap up email will include details on how to share your thoughts and artwork. It'll also have a survey, a live zoom meet up link, and info on a way to access an extra week of prompts for supporting our social media habits and creative practices after this break and project. I would be so appreciative if you took a look at the email tomorrow!

It's a little bittersweet for me that this is the final prompt email--I've really enjoyed doing this break with you and I look forward to sharing my experience and learning about yours.

Thank you so much--now go celebrate!! :)
Talk to you tomorrow,
