What detail surprises you in this painting?
Mary from the coast noted that “the woman is fully dressed standing by the pool.”
To Nick, “it appears as though the swimmer is avoiding the land dweller.”
Carole noticed “the noise of silence.” (Question for Carole: is there one detail that makes you feel this? I feel it too and want understand why.)
Chris took the next step—from intuition into imagination— with the start of a story:
“What surprises me most about this painting is that Connie continues to work as the family Assistant even after the man who hired her, a great man, passed away years ago. Now, her job is that of a glorified babysitter, making sure that Tripp gets to his monthly Trust Distribution meetings on time. Today will be like any other day though; he will be late, she will make excuses for him, and she will eat a cold dinner alone in the vast dark kitchen of estate.”
Poor Connie.
Thank you to all this month's contributors!
Next month's painting is new to me. Can't wait to see what you make of it.
