Hi friends,

I hope you are having a fun summer, making nice memories and taking many photos and videos.

As I announced recently, I will be sharing with you the best of The Sunday Spark since 2023 until further notice.

As you may know, I launched this newsletter in December 2020 but I am only choosing content from the last 2 years since I shared a special edition of The Best of when I created the 100th edition in October 2022.

This decision will help me keep connecting with you while lightening the load a little during a packed and joyful summer.

I read every reply to The Sunday Spark, please keep writing to me!

(Throwback) Encouragement to do your weekly review:

Whenever I do the weekly review, I feel:

  1. Present, because it’s a reflective process that slows time for me and gives me the pause I need before moving into execution mode.
  2. Grateful because I get to review all my gratitude journal entries of the past week and feel the gratitude multiplying in my heart that I received so many blessings in just one week.
  3. Clear about the week ahead and know what tasks need to get done on what days. It’s all there in my weekly to-do list and my reminders apps.
  4. Realistic control over my schedule and where I can fit working on my weekly goals.
  5. Intentional about my time, attention and energy and where I want to spend them.
  6. Wiser, because I notice mistakes I made during the past week, and I make new decisions to avoid them in the new week and the future.
  7. Better about myself and my life and so glad I did it.

Why not listen to my podcast episode about this habit, which I consider more important than waking up early, and download my template to try it out starting this week?

This habit costs time but pays enormous dividends for progress in your goals. It’s one of the things that my All-Year-Goals group and I keep reminding each other to do every single week and hold each other accountable for it, and it’s the one habit that they keep thanking me for introducing into their lives.

P.S. Let’s chat if you are considering hiring me to guide you towards your goals and positive habits in 1-1 sessions (limited spots available for the month of August) or to train your team about the science of effective planning through goal setting, building habits, mastering time management for better performance and productivity, or the art of  beating burnout.
Reply to this email, and we can start from there.

Here is your weekly dose of The Sunday Spark ⚡️a newsletter listing 3 “Best of” sparks that I thought were worth starting your week with.

1. 🤔 "If you could magically accomplish one of these aims over the next twelve months, which would give you the biggest boost in happiness?" This is how The Habits for Happiness quiz starts. It is the latest quiz that Gretchen Rubin created; I recommend trying all her quizzes to meet new parts of you. My quiz result was: "To be happier, consider a habit that will create calm by clearing out unwanted items or tasks," which you know as my decluttering challenge! This year, digital decluttering is on the list. Please share your results with me; I am so curious to know! We can work on it together in my habits course once I announce it.

2. 🍿 In late 2023, I started Thursday movie night with the kids. While I haven’t been sitting and watching as much lately with the baby, IF, a 2024 release, has become my favorite. I highly recommend you watch it soon, it’s truly a movie for the books  (Tip: Don't watch the trailer).

3. 💬 💰 I read You Need a Budget a few years ago. It took me years to finally achieve my goal of active budgeting (tracking and planning my finances) which I recorded a podcast episode about recently (stay tuned!), so, today I thought I'd remind you to consider a financial goal by sharing this quote:

“That's the beauty of a (good) budget: it lets you see exactly how your spending affects the rest of your life.”
― Jesse Mecham, You Need a Budget

Before you go, here are some cool resources I personally use, love and recommend:
  1. PRODUCTIVITY HACK 🎯⚡Tired of opening 12 tabs every morning just to get your day started? I've been using Momentum Plus as my browser homepage - it's like having a personal assistant that shows me my mantra, weather, to-do list, and even tracks time zones so I don't accidentally wake up my friend in Australia at 3 AM. Newsletter readers get 10% off with this link.
  2. 📙 Can you believe I have been using this amazing gratitude journal since 2017? Here is a link to an Instagram highlight I did about it so you can see it from the inside. You get 10% off when you order using my code: Bardeespodcast10.
