You’re not stuck in the waiting room because you’re broken, but because you’re brave. Brave enough to fear what you desperately want. Brave enough to pause on the edge of your comfort zone. And though you may be tempted by it every. single. day, the last thing you’ll do is walk away.
That’s resilience. That’s hunger. That’s your authentic self patiently waiting with an open hand to guide you forward into a world of miracles.
No matter where you are in life, or how you’ve struggled, or whatever you continue to fail at accomplishing — I want you to know: you are right on time. You are not behind. You haven’t wasted anything. And the dreams you hold also long to be yours.
Whatever has felt like a missed opportunity has been nothing more than a path that you were not ready to walk along. That which was made for you will always open its doors to you, over + over, until you are ready to step through.
The pain of ghosting on yourself — where you continue to settle by behaving like the person you never wanted to be — is what binds you back from moving forward.
Although it may bring comfort to think of it as such, the waiting room is not a real place. There are no shackles on your wrists. The only thing keeping you frozen is you.
The waiting room — no matter how much you decorate with disco balls, string lights, + candles that smell like disappearing into a forest — is but a mindset. It’s a voice that begs, pleads, + screams in frustration:
- “If only, if only, if o n l y.”
- “That’s not good enough. You look like a loser.”
- “Why are you trying so hard?”
- “Why aren’t you trying harder?”
- “Please, please, p l e a s e.”
- “Okay, tomorrow, then. But if you don’t show up, it’s over.”
- “If you hyperfixate on this one issue for the next three weeks, everything will finally work out.”
These are the lines spoken by shame. And shame is the last thing that should be by your side. Especially in this moment. Especially when you have done nothing to deserve it. Especially when you’re exactly right on time.
Reading that may highlight the pain that sits in your heart, because it may not feel like you deserve more time. And you may be playing all of the stories you’ve heard about what it takes to be successful + be comparing it to your own failures. To your false starts. To all the ideas that lit you up + never took action on.
But it’s true. You have all the time in the world. You have enough time to make it all work out. To make more mistakes. To rest. To live. To try something new. To fail some more. And to get back up to do it all over again.
You have time to bridge the gap between who you are today + the unimaginably brilliant person your future demands you to become.
That is what The Waiting Room Chronicles is all about: the act of getting back up, stepping out of the liminal space in between who you are + what you want, + making your next leap the one that gets you to the other side.
Welcome, dear friend, to a new chapter. You’re here because you’ve been struck by a dream. You’re here because you want to leave the waiting room. You’re here because you’re ready to finally see it all come through. ✨
