To help welcome you to campus, President Mangelsdorf shares why she’s excited for you to join the University community and for your journey as a Rochester student.
Here are some resources for tomorrow's registration:
First-year students, it's almost time to register for classes! While we hope everything goes smoothly, here's what to do if you run into issues:
❏ Double-check that the appropriate holds have been lifted from your UR Student (Workday) account:
ASE advising hold: This should have been lifted by your advisor after they approved your fall semester schedule. If not, email your advisor directly or contact the Center for Advising Services at 585-275-2354.
Onboarding tasks hold: This is removed once you have completed your onboarding tasks, which you should have done upon enrollment. If you still need to complete them, you can view instructions on the new student checklist.
❏ Check your course selections for the following issues:
Time conflicts
Instructor permission needed: You can request instructor permission by following these instructions.
Number of seats left in the class: If a class has reached capacity and is closed, you can email the instructor directly. Please note that you will likely not receive a response right away as instructors are busy preparing for the semester.
❏ Join the Orientation Leader (OL) Zoom Room: The OLs will be hosting a Zoom Room to help navigate registration issues on Wednesday, August 6 from 8:45 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (EDT). Look for the link to enter the Zoom Room in the weekly email from your OL (sent to your University of Rochester email address).
❏ Contact the Center for Advising Services (CCAS): CCAS will be available by phone at 585-275-2354 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (EDT) on Wednesday, August 6 to help answer questions, contact advisors, and troubleshoot. If you're unable to call, you can use the chat on their website to reach the office.
