🌿 Grace Notes: Big Changes, Same Heart

Dear friends,

If you’ve been following along on YouTube or Instagram lately,
you’ve seen it —
the dust, the tape, the purging, the packing, the heavy breathing.

My beloved Sage Vintage Market is now REALLY officially no more.
My Sage shop and studio are empty.

And all of those years and years (30+) of gathered beauty —
every antique trim, vintage book, beloved treasure and art supply —
those that I was not able to part with, they’ve all come home with me.
Even though I’ve purged and cleaned, thrown away
and given (over 8 truck loads) I still have to fit what feels like
an elephants worth of treasure into a peanut shell sized room here!

It’s been a bittersweet, emotional move.
That beautiful, creative space held so many wishes,
classes, and memories — and now?
I’m starting a new chapter.
In a tiny home studio.
With a big heart.
And a fresh start.

🏡 What’s Next?

You’ll still find me:

  •    Creating art (with even more heart than ever)
  •    Sharing my art, stories and slow lifestyle vlogs on YouTube
  •    Selling beautiful old things, art and kits on Etsy and eBay
  •    Designing kits, tutorials, and online classes
to bring art and vintage joy to your hands
  •    Launching a brand-new series I’ve been planning
for years and wildly excited about called:
🎞 Our Living Tapestries — where we’ll turn old things
into soulful new treasures (think: altered books,
slow stitching projects, Magnolia Pearl style
embellished clothing,
vintage style quilts, darling totes, and so, so much more!)
  •    …AND virtual Petit Retreats!

✨ Why I’m Moving My Newsletter to Substack

I’ve loved writing to you here... But as many of you know,
these platforms charge quite a bit
 just to send these notes.
And right now, in this time of downsizing
and shifting gears, I need to be more mindful
of where my time and money go.

So I’m asking you to do something small (but big for me):
Would you please follow me over to Substack?
It’s free, easy, and pleasant — and it will be
my new cozy home for these Grace Notes
(Jynene Hartman Lost Arts) going forward.

🌼 Why You’ll Love Substack

  •    It’s free! No ads! No paywalls.
I will never charge you to read as some do.
  •    Substack is just such a great place
for readers and writers. You’ll easily find your niche
in a much more pleasant space
than most other social medias.
I’ve really been enjoying it.
  •    Comments and connection. It’s easy to chat,
respond, or just read quietly.
  •    So many kindred spirits. Substack is full of beautiful,
meaningful newsletters — and now I’ll be there too.
You’ll be able to read many… or just mine.

If you’ve ever visited my shop, bought an art kit, left a kind comment,
watched a video, or just quietly followed along… thank you.
This change is big. But I’m still me.
I still love all of the same old things. I still make art.
And I still want to share every bit of it with you.
I'll continue selling vintage and antique goods, kits and art
on Etsy and Ebay. As soon as I have them
restocked I'll share those!

Let’s keep walking together. I’ll meet you over on Substack.
With love and antique glitter on my fingers,
Jynene

P.S. I’d love it if you shared my Substack link with a friend
who loves vintage beauty and heartfelt creativity.
Every share helps me more than you know.

Sharing this again: about “Grandma Core” and how Grand Millennials are collecting and creating in ways that their grand and great-grandmothers did … and WHY! I’ll link an article if you’re interested! This just makes me so happy! My favorite things in the world are heirlooms, older things, wiser things; repurposing and reimagining vintage and antique treasures into beautiful new things like Commonplace Books, Wearable Art, Home Goods and Gifts. For several years I’ve been collecting, organizing, practicing and planning my next series of tutorials “Our Living Tapestries” based on these very things!

Grandma Core is things like knitting, quilting, sewing, handwork, needlework, embroidery, crochet, painting, sketching, baking, canning, gardening, etc. Isn’t that good news? Young people are finding the value in heirloom quality handmade treasures for home and gifts. This just warms my little old fashioned girl heart to the core. Which one  is your favorite?

So I invite you to stay tuned for “Our Living Tapestries” … tutorials of all kinds based on all things handmade, homemade, reimagined and upcycled using lovingly collected antique, vintage and some new textiles, ephemera and more! I have SO MANY plans. Such a long list! Really. Long.

Thank you again for being here, for your support and kindred spirit friendships through these past difficult years! You are more appreciated than I am able to express.
