The last gasp of winter has been filled with Booker longlist reading, launches, National Poetry Day and preparing for both Father's Day (this Sunday 7th September) and Bookshop Day (Saturday 11th October). We are collaborating once again with our local bookshop friends for the Auckland Bookshop Tour, please keep an eye on socials for details.
Meanwhile, Jenna, Nate & Wendy have been racing through the Booker longlist, we should have all read in time for the shortlist announcement on Wednesday 24th September (NZ time). So far, Maria Reva's Endling has been the favourite for all three of us, but hold that thought as we've still got a few more to read.
Congratulations to the winners of the New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults. See all the winners below.
In the meantime, read below for new & recent highlights from the month, Father's Day picks, preorders, staff picks, event news and radio reviews.
We also have a chance to win one of two copies of R.F. Kuang's Katabasis and some movie tickets.
Discuss R. F. Kuang's Katabasis with Rhi and Nate from Time Out with our friends at HarperCollins New Zealand.
We will have some wine and light snacks in an inviting atmosphere. See you there!
