Hi First name

Woohoo this is the official kick off of the Make Time Sew-along and I am thrilled to be helping you with your first block!

This week you’ll be sewing the Make Time Quote block.  We are starting off with this one for two reasons:

Firstly it sums up the theme of the quilt which is literally to make time to do what makes you happy! So we thought it would be good to set the tone for that and to keep it forefront in your mind :-)

But secondly because it’s probably the block that will take you the longest to put together. It’s not a particularly tricky block (pinky promise!), but there are A LOT of pieces.

So our thinking was you could do a little bit of it each week of the sewalong if you wanted to spread it out. Or if you are super speedy you might like to make a line per day this week.

I’d recommend starting with the word ‘HAPPY’ and then pin it up in front of your sewing space as a lovely reminder!

The block is foundation paper pieced and the pieces are fairly small. So my biggest tip is to take your time.

Do pop over the blog today to read about my top tips for this particular FPP block. I’ll be zeroing in on printing issues, how to avoid seam shadowing, and chain piecing.

If you are brand new to foundation paper piecing, or not done it for a while, I've recorded a FREE video class for you to give you all the basics of FPP to get you off the starter blocks. It’s called Quick Start FPP and I’d love you to join us.

If you sign up to the FREE class you'll be able to download this bonus 4.5” Speech Bubble pattern that you can make into a cute mug rug / coaster for your tea! It’s small enough to be incorporated into pouch patterns too.

You can sign up at any time and watch the class when it’s convenient for you.
