Edition 36: Frequently Asked Questions
Another edition of you ask we answer!

Welcome First name / fellow lawn addict to another instalment of “The Fulcrum”.
Before we start, during the week we asked you all for some questions over on our socials. Almost all the responses we got were for renovation, while we will address some of it here, we need to hold off until it warms up, especially this season, as it is much colder than last. Usually for Victoria, it's around the end of September when we start thinking about it.  The further north you go the earlier it can be, e.g Brisbane and further north, it can be as early as the start of September if the season allows it. Right now it's still pretty wet for you. Don't be confused by your golf course or sporting stadium doing theirs early, as they have a lot of other factors to take into consideration.
We will cover renovation in more depth in the next edition.

What can I do now in time for spring renovation?
If you have been following a winter plan, continue to do so! this will help us bring the reno window closer, allowing for a longer growing season.
If you have not been following a winter plan, now is the time to start foliar “spoon feeding” your lawn, to start giving the plant what it needs in time for spring. “Spoon feeding”, splitting monthly applications in half and doing them fortnightly. This allows for a more efficient uptake from the lawn, less stress, less nutrient loss, and an overall better result. This time of year there is only one option we would recommend, and that is the one and only FERTECH FUSION.  Fusion gives the plant just enough of what it needs this time of year to help systems stay active, rather than going into a full dormancy period.

I want to seed a new lawn, what can I do?
In short the answer is WAIT! (yes there is a theme to this weeks edition). Especially locally, soil temperatures are too cold for even cool season grasses to germinate, usually this is a minimum of 10˚C. Whereas our warm season grass seed need a minimum of 15˚C (preferably 18˚C), to aid with germination. When sowing a lawn always make sure to include a good quality starter fertiliser such as 2spec Establish.
We will cover establishing a new lawn in an upcoming edition

I have a few products due at the same time, can I mix them together?
Especially at renovation time we are usually due a few products at the same time. We can save a little bit of time by tank mixing products that are compatible together. 2 of the big preventative measures in the upcoming season are Barricade, for weed prevention, and Acelepryn for systemic control of most turf insects. We know these products play well together, and when you combine them in liquid form with a wetting agent like Hydrolink Rapid, you’re giving them the best possible start. The wetting agent helps move the actives into the right part of the soil profile, positioning them exactly where they’ll do the most good, making your applications more efficient and effective.
When combining multiple products it is always recommended to a compatibility test before hand.

Be sure to take advantage of this weeks incredible deal as it will only run for 2 weeks!
