Ā
We're all judging ourselves against a standard that doesn't even exist.
Ā
This week I had such a unique mix of meetings: a startup CEO, fresh out of a fundraising round and surpassing their revenue goals (š„), a few corporate execs, and creative entrepreneurs at very different stages.
Ā
On paper? Wildly different.Ā
In reality? The same theme kept coming up:Ā
That nagging feeling thereās someone āmore realā out there. Someone who fits the title better.
Ā
And hereās the clincher: none of them lack skills, confidence, or experience. They know theyāre capable. And still: shrinking sneaks in.Ā
Ā
Shrinking isnāt just about playing small. Itās about editing yourself down until your business gets only half of you. And thatās not what it needs.
Ā
Our businesses feel it when we duck instead of stand. They need us as fully fledged foundersāunapologetic, whole, unshrunk.
Ā
So Iāve set myself a challenge. For the next 8 weeks, leading up to the launch of Gravitas, Iām practicing
unshrinking in public over on Instagram. Each week Iāll take on a small, visible dare to take up more space.
Ā
Ā
Iād love for you to join me.
Follow along, try the challenges yourself, or just let them nudge you to notice where
you might be shrinking when your work deserves more of you.
Ā
Because the truth is:Ā
your business doesnāt need a āby-the-bookā founder. It needs you. All of you.
