Last week, we talked about internal linking—aka the doorways connecting your best rooms (aka pages) together.

Today? We’re unlocking another key upgrade: refreshing your content.

No shade to your old blog posts—but if they were rooms in your house, some would definitely need a fresh paint job. 😬

Here’s how to give them a glow-up without tearing it all down:

Step 1: Find your “almost there” posts.
Check Google Search Console. Look for blog posts ranking on page 2 or 3 for keywords you care about. These are your “fixer-uppers.”

Step 2: Ask yourself:
  • Is this post still useful and aligned with search intent?
  • Could I add updated stats, examples, or a fresh story?
  • Are the headline and intro doing their job?
  • Could it use more formatting (subheads, bullets, images)?
Step 3: Link it up!
Internal linking matters here too! Can you guide people (and Google) from newer posts or high-traffic pages to this one?

Step 4: Refresh the Call to Action (CTA)
Every post should lead somewhere—booking a service, downloading a freebie, reading the next blog. Make sure the path is clear.

Bonus: Try to include an additional CTA in the middle of your blog post since some might not read all the way through!

Step 5: Give it structure.
Use clear headings, short paragraphs, and maybe even schema if it fits (like an FAQ). Make it easy to skim, scan, and stay.

Think of refreshing posts like this:

Your content is part of your home—and a well-loved room still needs a little sprucing up now and then!

Next week, we’ll get into search intent and why it’s the foundation of every high-ranking post.

Until then, go give your content some love!

Okay, the school supply list finally got tackled. (Still don’t know our teacher assignment though, but that happens today! 😅)

The kids even got back-to-school haircuts, so I'm calling that a win in my book!

We’ve got just a few summer days left, and I’m trying to squeeze in all the backyard fun and spontaneous Target runs I can before structure returns.

Tell me—did you survive back-to-school prep? Or are you still winging it like me?
