August 21, 2025 (Calgary, AB) — Country Thunder Alberta brought the party to Calgary once again, transforming the Confluence Historic Site & Parkland into one of the hottest country music destinations in Canada. With clear skies and perfect summer weather, thousands of fans from across Canada came together for an unforgettable weekend filled with powerhouse performances and a festival atmosphere that only Country Thunder can deliver.  Festival goers were treated to three days of world-class music with Cody Johnson, Bailey Zimmerman and Old Dominion lighting up the main stage with electrifying sets that had the crowd singing and dancing from start to finish. Among the weekend’s standout moments came when Riley Green invited two fans on stage to join him in performing his Ella Langley collaborations, “ You Look Like You Love Me” and “ Don’t Mind If I Do,” while Bailey Zimmerman welcomed a fan to sing along to his chart-topping hit “ Rock and A Hard Place.” Fans were also surprised, first when Riley Green joined Clint Black on stage to sing “ Nothing’s News” while Black returned the favour and joined Green in singing “ Hell Of A Way To Go.” |

Beyond the headliners, fans enjoyed performances from award-winning artists Jake Owen, Riley Green and Clint Black in addition to Canadian favourites Tim Hicks, James Barker Band, Lindsay Ell and Owen Riegling. The weekend also featured the Country 105 Stage presented by Craig Senyk Initiatives, giving fans the chance to discover rising homegrown talent. Among them was Alberta’s own Julia Vos, who made a career milestone with her first-ever Main Stage appearance on Friday, before returning Saturday for an intimate set on the Country 105 Stage.  The fun didn’t stop at the music — the festival grounds were buzzing with activities, food vendors and unique experiences for fans of all ages. Guests hopped on the mechanical bull at the Ranchman’s tent, played corn hole with Twisted Tea and struck a pose at Motel 6 + Days Inn’s Western-themed photo booth. This year’s event also featured improved grounds with expanded space and upgraded infrastructure, making it easier for fans to enjoy everything the festival had to offer. Adding a cherry on top of an already perfect weekend, Country Thunder proudly presented a fan-funded donation of $72,155 to The Confluence, raised directly through festival ticket sales in support of the local community.  |
