Let's get started.

If You Do One Thing This Week:
1. 💌 Show love. Be relational.

The admission landing page is likely a family's first touch with your school. Make it magical.

Here's how:
  • Ask yourself how you can make things more user friendly.
  • Ask a parent ambassador who has a helpful, critical eye to take a look at your landing page and tell you what's missing or questions they have.
  • Are the dates listed only transactional (due dates for what you need from families) or are you being relational (welcome event, buddy brunch)?
  • Is there a picture of your admission professionals?
  • Do you have a welcome letter?  I hope you do.
  • Is the language on the page helpful?
Small changes will make a big difference on your admission landing page. Now you're on your way to yielding these families who are falling in love with your school.

Well done.

2 Tips to DO MORE:

2. 🎯 Don't be an island.

Take a lunch, carpool, or recess duty.

Admissions can feel like an island, but duties drop you right into the heartbeat of school life.

The better you know the kids and faculty, the better you can sell the school. Some of my best stories about the student experience came from my lunch duties (I had two per week. That's how much I loved it.)

3. 💬 Collaborate internally.

Admissions opens the door for new students, but individual departments help families deepen their connection.

Share with Arts, Athletics, Development, and STEM, which new families might be ready to get more involved in the school through:

Time – volunteering at events or lending expertise;
Talent – offering professional skills or leadership;
Treasure – making philanthropic gifts to support the school.

Don't be shy about this - it will help your school in the long run. A quick handoff builds stronger relationships with the school, which is good for everyone.

Bonus points: Set a recurring annual meeting with each department head to make sure these conversations happen every year.

What a treat to join the Upgrade School Marketing Podcast this month.

We discussed The Six Types of Working Genius, my favorite tool to untangle and understand workplace dynamics. This model is ready-made to eliminate team friction, improve collaboration, and build healthier workplace cultures.

I have trained hundreds of school professionals in this model, and it is always a winner.

The episode features a live assessment reveal of host Matt’s results and practical examples of how schools can apply these insights to build championship teams, make better hiring decisions, and leverage individual strengths for collective success.
