Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Strategic Planning Town Hall last night! It was such an encouragement to dream together about what The Rock School could look like in the next 5–10 years. We’re grateful for your feedback, the time and thought you put into being there, and most of all, the privilege of partnering with you in God’s work of redeeming the world.

After years of preparation, coaching, and prayer, we are finally welcoming the PYP IB Authorization Team to our campus tomorrow.  This is the final step in becoming the only Christian K-12 IB Continuum school in the southeast region of the US.  

 

Thank you for walking with us through this five-year journey toward IB authorization. We ask you to join us in prayer—that as the authorization team visits, they would sense God’s presence on our campus and be touched by the discipleship happening in every classroom.

Parents of 8th Graders - the registration deadline for the DC 2026 trip has been extended to August 28, 2025. Deposit is $115. Visit WorldStrides to learn more and to register.

 

The Collaboratory is now a Phones Free Zone! Parents can sign a credit card authorization form to add a card on file in the Collab or have their student ready to make a physical payment (card or cash).

 

Just a reminder: when you drop your students off in the designated SAFE DROP ZONES (marked by green signs), traffic moves more smoothly and every student stays safe and accounted for. Our staff are stationed around campus during pickup and drop-off to help keep things safe and to ensure students only exit vehicles at the proper times.

 

Additionally, please help our school be a good neighbor to the surrounding community by ONLY dropping your students off on our school campus. Cambridge Forest residents have informed us this week they will be notifying law enforcement if student drop offs and pickups continue in their neighborhood.

We are excited to continue building on our second year of standards-based grading in the PYP! Unlike traditional grades, this approach highlights progress and growth rather than perfection, giving a clearer picture of what your child knows and is still developing. Please take time to review the Standards-Based Grading Guidelines to better understand how we report on learning. We’ll also share more at our PYP Orientation Night on Monday, September 8, 2025.

All students who are wanting to participate in The Rock School 4H Club MUST be registered with Alachua County 4H before September 1st. Register Here. 

*You will need to create a new account. $25 for kids over the age of 8. Under 8 years old are free but still need to be registered.

 

If your student would like to be considered as a Director for the One Act Theatre Production on November 14 & 15, please submit their information HERE. 

If your student would like to be considered as a Playwright for the One Act Theatre Production on November 14 & 15, please submit their information HERE.

All students in Preschool through 11th grade will be photographed on Tuesday Sept. 9th. Orders can be placed online at www.strawbridge.net with the school code FM471031. (Orders placed more than 5 days after picture day may incur a late fee.) Make-up pictures will take place on November 11. 

The 2nd/3rd grade teams are still in need of parent volunteer coaches. Please contact walt.darty@therock.school if you can help. TRS flag football practices are on Fridays at 5p on the field for all teams. Practice start date will be determined by the team coach, who will contact their team's parents. 

 

Girls and their parents in grades 8-12 interested in joining the Varsity Girls Basketball team this year should attend this interest meeting.
