join us for our fall fundraiser |
|
We are excited to invite you to Yappy Hour, Britepaths' fall fundraiser to support our Food Security Program! Join us for an evening of great company, craft brews, and food as we celebrate the expansion of our Food Program to include pet food for families in need. Too many families must make heartbreaking choices between caring for themselves and their pets. Together, we can fill this critical gap and help families stay whole. How You Can Support: |

The changing landscape of snap: data shows millions at risk |
|
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides vital support for families facing food insecurity. However, proposed federal changes could significantly reduce its reach. Urban Institute analyses show that expanding work requirements to adults up to age 64, parents of teenagers, and veterans, along with restrictions on immigrant eligibility and new requirements for states to help cover food benefit costs, than 22 million families nationwide would see reduced SNAP benefits, with over 5 million families losing at least $25 a month in food support. Of those, 3.3 million families include children. Britepaths knows that access to food is the foundation for household stability. As national policies shift toward limiting benefits, community-based support becomes increasingly essential and urgent. With your partnership, we will continue to fill the gap for families in Northern Virginia, ensuring they have the nutrition they need to move towards brighter and stronger futures. |

help families thrive: support stuff the bus |
|
Britepaths is once again proud to partner with Fairfax County's Stuff the Bus Food Drive, a vital community effort to stock local food pantries and ensure that families facing hunger in our community have the support they need. How You Can Help: - Donate Food: For this event, we can only accept contributions of nonperishable items listed on the flyer below. This helps us stock our pantry shelves and meet the immediate needs of families working toward stability.
In addition to the pantry staples listed below, we are especially seeking donations of dog and cat food to stock our SNAP Gap Pantry, which fills a critical gap for families since SNAP benefits do not cover the cost of pet food. - Volunteer Your Time: We need you to make this event a success! Shifts are available to greet donors, collect food, assist with loading and unloading buses,
and weigh donations.

the impact of your support |
|
Financial Empowerment is at the heart of what we do. Through coaching, workshops, and personalized guidance, we help individuals and families gain control over their money, build stronger credit, and plan for a more stable future. When members of our community learn how to budget, reduce debt, and set long-term goals, the results go far beyond dollars and cents. Families experience less stress, greater confidence, and the ability to focus on building stronger futures with dignity and hope. Every gift and partnership allows us to continue providing the financial tools and support that transform lives in our community. |
