Green Labs Auraria Sustainable Campus Program logo
Over the summer, the ASCP launched the Green Labs Program, an initiative dedicated to promoting safety and sustainability in research and teaching labs across the Auraria Campus.

Research laboratories can be resource-intensive spaces. In fact, a laboratory space produces a staggering amount of avoidable waste and can use up to ten times more energy than office space (Harvard).

The insights gained from this pilot program will inform the potential expansion of the My Green Labs Certification process to help encourage sustainable practices in our labs campus-wide!
Sustainable Labs Committee Meetings

Are you passionate about sustainability in the lab? Do you have ideas to share, or do you want to connect with others across CCD, CU Denver, and MSU Denver?

Join us at the Sustainable Labs Committee meetings!
Collaborate with others from all three institutions to help make our campus labs more sustainable:
  • Monthly meetings on the first Friday of the month at 1:30 pm
  • Open discussion and idea sharing
  • Faculty and research students welcome

Denver Downtown Partnership Survey graphic
The Downtown Denver Partnership is gathering insights on how people travel to and around Downtown Denver—and they want to hear from you!

The 2025 Downtown Denver Travel Survey is your opportunity to contribute to a better understanding of commuter patterns and transportation needs across our community. Your feedback helps paint a clearer picture of how mobility in Downtown is working (or not) for everyone.

Why participate?
  • Inform future transportation planning
  • Highlight real commuter experiences and needs
  • Support efforts to improve sustainability and mobility downtown
Whether you commute daily, occasionally, or work remotely, your perspective matters. Every voice adds to a more complete story.

The survey is open now through October 17. Complete the survey and enter to win a $250 Visa gift card!

Sustainable Move-Out
We hosted our 4th annual Sustainable Move-Out program at the end of the Spring semester, collecting over 4,000 pounds of donated clothing, furniture, kitchenware, school supplies, and more! We also accepted mattress toppers for the first time. 92 mattress toppers were donated, and they will be recycled through the company Spring Back.

Cleanup Events
Volunteers removed more than 400 pounds of garbage over the summer from Cherry Creek, helping to restore the natural ecosystem and protect local wildlife, as well as from the Auraria Campus, keeping our campus clean and litter-free.

Sustainable Events
We supported VegFest Colorado, Mile Long Tale, and campus Welcome Week events by providing waste bins, waste sorting services, and education, making sustainable choices more accessible.

Educational Garden Sessions
We hosted Listen and Grow: Educational Garden Sessions from May to July, where plot owners and volunteers tended to plots in the Auraria Connect Garden while learning about various horticulture topics.
