Â
Hi First name / Slothies!
Â
My current book stack is chefâs kiss.Â
Â
One of the standouts has been The Gap and The Gainâand whew, has it been calling me out. The gist is this: most of us measure success by looking at how far we havenât gotten yet (the gap), instead of how far weâve come (the gain). And when you live in the gap, youâll always feel behind, no matter how much youâve accomplished.
Â
What I love about this book is that it doesnât force toxic positivity on you.Â
Â
Itâs not saying âjust be happy all the time.âÂ
Â
Itâs saying: yes, youâll have negative thoughts, yes, youâll hit rough days, but hereâs how to shift out of it faster so you donât stay stuck.
Â
Practical, dare I say savvy, strategies that actually work in the real world. My kind of book.
Â
And hereâs where it really hit meâambitious women like us were basically raised to live in the gap.
Â
Always reaching, striving, holding ourselves to goals that were never realistic to begin with. Then we crash out, have a menty b, and hit burnout; only then do we try to learn healthier habits.Â
Â
But honestly? Wouldnât it make more sense to start from a place thatâs sustainable and freeing now?
Â
Itâs the last weekend of summer, and I know the âfall panicâ is about to kick in.
Â
The end-of-year push, the self-imposed deadlines, the feeling that youâre already behind.Â
Â
So let me say this LOUD and CLEAR:Â
Â
you are not behind, you are not late, and most of those timelines youâre chasing arenât even real.
Â
Hereâs what I want you to do next time that meany in your head says otherwise:
- đ Brain dump everything coming your wayânot to take on more, but to get it out of your head.
- ⨠Look at it and ask yourself, âIs this even sustainable for me to carry?â
- đđ˝ââď¸ And if the answer is no, start building your teamâwhether thatâs subscriptions, services, people, or just routines that make life lighter.
Because your goals arenât facts or requirements, theyâre just directions.Â
Â
The path will zig, zag, twist, and double backâbut if you go in knowing that, you honestly canât fail.
Â
You will get where youâre going. The secret is to let it happen in a way that actually works for you.
Â
Youâve got thisâon your side always! đŚĽđ
Â
XOXO,
Renee
