This past weekend, a few of the girls and I took a trip to Exeter for the  UFO Festival. We do this every year and it's really something I look forward to. It's not a big, flashy event, but it's our tradition, an opportunity for us to be present with one another and live yoga off our mat. It solidifies what I already know to be true, it's not the big stuff that matters, it's all the small, ordinary moments between the big ones that truly count. Anyway, the invitation is always open, and I hope someday you will join in. Heather has already committed to matching shirts for next year!!! Submit your size accordingly!
At now that the the aliens have been visited, it's time to welcome September. I feel like September is dramatic, like she has to let everyone know she's arrived. She brings this, you can't miss me energy, in the way she magically shifts the feel of the air. You know what I mean? Like all of a sudden you need your SOUL hoodie, and your coffee & tea taste 30% better. What is that all about?Â
Whatever it is, September sure does something for setting the scene at the studio. Walking into the heat of the room, OMG!! I swear somedays it feels like the best hug of my life, my muscles say “thank you,” and my toes forget that they were cold five minutes before. The contrast is unreal: cold outside, fire inside, it’s basically therapy, and this I am willing to bet there is science to back this up! Let's not forget about that after class feel, when you step back into the chill of the lobby, when your cheeks are still flushed, your glistening with sweat, your heart’s open and soul warmed. It’s freaking everything.
Uhhhh… I love September and her dramatic ways!!
Anyway, whether you’re craving heat, sweat, stillness, or just a break from the world, your mat is waiting — and so are we. We can't wait to share the magic, and drama, of September with you!
