Momentum Makers:
Small Wins, Big Impact
Angie Bakke, MBA
Doctors for America Executive Director
At Doctors for America, we know that progress in advocacy isn’t always about sweeping policy changes—it’s often about the small but powerful “momentum makers” that move us forward. Momentum makers can be people, actions, or moments that spark energy, build confidence, and open the door to bigger wins.

Sometimes it’s a physician sharing their patient’s story in a legislative meeting, or a medical student writing their first op-ed. Other times, it’s the passage of a local policy, a national media mention, or simply showing up together in solidarity. Each of these steps generates momentum that strengthens our movement for health justice.

As members, you are the true momentum makers. Every call you join, every story you share, and every action you take fuels lasting change. Now is the time to add your voice—write that op-ed, attend that training, or step into leadership on issues you care about. Together, we can turn today’s sparks into tomorrow’s victories for our patients, communities, and nation.

Here’s to a fall filled with momentum makers!
