Wicked Plant Art is Back!

My Wicked Plant Art is back! This time we're in my hometown of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. In addition to the original artwork we'll have digital reproductions (think BIG) along a path in our new botanical garden. (Learn more about the collection here.)

 

Not everything is in place yet, but we're planning an Opening Reception for October 9.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts last month about the kind of art you’d like to see next. The clear favorites were “beauty in the darkness” and “skeletons.” So I created these two pieces with that in mind (below). 

 

I don't have a good description for “Darkness Beautiful” yet (on left below). And my little skeleton creation feels complete but has no name. Do you have any suggestions? If yes, hit reply or email Carmen@StrangeFarmGirl.com to share your idea!

Each card is laser printed on white cover stock, measures 4.25" x 5.5" when folded, is blank inside, and comes with a matching envelope in a clear plastic sleeve. They are priced at $20 per set of 4 (not sold individually). Ask Alice

Ask Alice is a glimpse into my personal Wonderland featuring an image of my mother (circa 1947) surrounded by deep purple mandrake blooms from my Wicked Plant Art collection. (Click on the image for details.)

 

Typically anxious and obsessed with the time, the White Rabbit appears perfectly calm in this scenario. But then, that’s Alice… ”when she was just small.” 💜🐇♠️

Artsy project Update - Tarot Cards

I recently created and printed a mini tarot deck inspired by Minnesota wildlife, old family photos, and the color palette from my Death is a Doorway collage. I love shuffling through the cards, but won’t be printing more right now due to the cost. (If you’re new here, you can catch up on this project in past updates here.)

 

I’ll eventually add the images to my website, but before I officially put this project on hold, I want to share them with you. Thank you for being part of my little tarot experiment! 

I'd love to hear about it and include it in a future update.
