Hey First name / there,

Last week marked nine months of motherhood. Time is flying by, and I feel like checking in with you guys about the balance of it all.

Overall, life feels fun and promising. The obstacles are as significant as they ever have been, but it feels like the lights have been turned on. Before having a child, I poured so much of myself into work that the big picture was hard to see, but something about the clock of parenthood has given me more foresight.

Isla loves to climb and play, everything about water— drinking it, patting it, swimming in it. She loves people-watching in a crowd, and we are in what I imagine is the height of peek-a-boo. I remember feeling so intimidated by starting solids with her, but it’s become a fun new adventure. Eggs and tomatoes are the only foods I can recall her not being interested in initially, but she has been swayed!

Self-employment meant returning to work quickly, but it also allowed for a long on-ramp (don’t get me wrong, the soft transition has pros and cons). But I am really enjoying our current balance. I generally work solo 4 days a week and squeeze in emails, meetings, social media, and errands during my solo Isla days each week.

Now I can imagine and walk towards a more sustainable business model. I can also imagine myself walking away entirely, and I know that I would be okay and could be happy in either scenario. This feels like an important mindset shift. My priorities in life remain focused more on fulfillment than financial security, but having more emotional separation from my business only seems to be deepening that gut connection.

I might pop back in your inbox next week with a few Boda Clay Updates, but for now,
I am just dropping a line about new offerings:
