Higher doses of the diuretic can cause harm to the kidneys, so we'll follow up in a few weeks to do a renal panel to check on his kidney function. Considering the scares we had in April and June, we're pretty thrilled to have him still here with us, bossing us around, with a pretty solid quality of life. We continue to be so grateful for his
care team and the innumerable people checking in on him and us periodically.

Jeanie Bean is healthy except for her eyes. She's blind and has glaucoma. We administer two different kinds of eye drops daily to reduce the pressure in her eyes. She does not like it, but could easily sport a sign that says “will be compliant for pets, snuggles, and kisses,” so we make it work. She also is not a needle fan, which was a part of this week's appointment. She was rewarded with the squeeze tube of goopy “stinky cat treat,” which they both freaking love. (But it really is stinky and very gross to the humans.)
