Happy Monday, First name / friend!
Recently, our friend
Monica Kenton joined us to do what she does best: coaching us through how we naturally take action and how to leverage our individual strengths.
Among the topics we discussed were these five rules of trusting our instincts. Lucky you, we're sharing them.
Act before you think. Don't get bogged down on how you think you should approach a project. Focus on how you instinctively operate. Do the thing!
Self-provoke. It's up to you to motivate yourself. What is it you're working towards?
Commit, but to very little. Nothing will slow you down quicker than saying yes to 57 extra things that really aren't important.
Ask yourself, what are my actual priorities? What brings me value? What brings me joy? What gets me closer to my goals?
There will always be frustrations. Not all of them are necessary though. Which frustrations really matter?
Be obstinate in overcoming obstacles. Some projects may not play to all your strengths. But guess what? Other people have different strengths. Collaborate, ask for help, leverage others' gifts.
Do nothing when nothing works. Like Monica said, sometimes the best ideas come when you're vacuuming. Your process doesn't have to work for anyone else. Do what works for you.
