In this session, Dr. Dave Chokshi—former NYC Health Commissioner and practicing physician—will explore how federal health policy decisions ripple out to state and local systems, ultimately shaping what clinicians can offer at the bedside. Drawing on lessons from New York City and recent federal legislation affecting Medicaid, the ACA, and public health funding, this conversation will help medical professionals connect policy to practice—and understand how advocacy at all levels can protect patient care. Dr. Chokshi will also touch on his more recent work as chair of the Common Health Coalition and co-chair of the Health & Political Economy Project.
