Note: This isn’t your usual Thursday Site Notes—but I wanted to send this special edition your way because something important just changed in how Google tracks search results, and it could be affecting what you’re seeing in Search Console right now.

Have you noticed fewer impressions in Google Search Console this week?

You’re not alone—and your content probably didn’t tank.

Google just made a quiet change that’s having a ripple effect across the SEO world.

Here’s what’s happening:

Until recently, SEO tools could load up to 100 search results on one page using a special setting. That made it easier to track deep rankings (like position #57 or #93).

Now, that feature is gone. Google removed the ability to view 100 results at once.

This shift was first picked up by SEO folks at Ahrefs, Search Engine Roundtable, and Keyword Tracker—though, to be clear, Google hasn’t officially confirmed the change.

That’s how it goes sometimes: the algorithm shifts quietly, tools start behaving differently, and the data starts looking off.

That’s exactly why I’m here in your inbox so you don’t need to monitor every headline or decode every chart.

I’m keeping an eye on what’s happening—and I’ll always break it down when it matters for you.

What this actually means:
  • Some keyword rankings are harder to track
  • Impressions may look lower
  • Average position might look better—but it’s not the whole story
A few tips if you're managing your site yourself:
âś… Look at clicks, not just impressions
âś… Focus on content already ranking in the top 20
✅ Revisit old blog posts—connect them to related topics with internal links
✅ Pay attention to what people are actually searching for (check Search Console → Queries)

These small shifts will help you stay visible to real users, not just bots or reports.

What we're doing at Ivingo:
For all clients in our monthly optimization retainer, we’re already:
  • Reassessing key page rankings with this new shift in mind
  • Prioritizing high-intent content that's close to page 1
  • Tightening up internal linking and page structure to support visibility
We’re watching the data, adjusting strategy, and keeping everything aligned with your goals—so you don’t have to worry about chasing every algorithm ripple!

Want that kind of peace of mind?
If you’re not in the retainer yet, now’s a great time to join.

We keep your site tuned up monthly so it continues to perform—even when Google decides to change the rules (again).

No panic. Just purpose-driven updates! The search world is always shifting— but you don’t have to stay glued to the algorithm updates. I’ve got my eyes on what’s changing, what matters, and what you can ignore—so you can stay focused on running your business.

Looking out for you in the SEO wild west,
