WE ARE COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS TO GENERAL CONFERENCE!
General Conference weekend is one of our most favorite holidays. We have learned that being intentional and deliberate about your conference weekend will leave a lasting impression on your children. Consider your family traditions. Which ones make conference weekend something that your family looks forward to?
One of the ways we make conference more intentional is through journaling and notetaking throughout the weekend. Maybe this is something you want to do as well. If so, here are the notebooks we love to use. There are three to choose from!
First, the Original.
Filled with beautiful artwork, and plenty of space to write. This notebook is unique because the pages are perforated. Use the spiral bound notebook to record your notes in the order the talks are given. But then, if you study with Inklings Institute, you can tear out the pages and place in them in a three ring binder to match the order of each semester’s study. It’s an intentional way to write down your immediate promptings over the weekend, and then continue your study for the next six months.
Second, new this year, and David’s favorite conference edition, the Watercolor notebook.
This notebook comes with a watercolor paint set and paint brush. It has a smaller space for notetaking, and includes pages with templates for watercolor painting as you listen. If you are someone who loves to doodle and create as you listen, this is the notebook for you. This one is selling out quick, so if this sounds like a fun way to celebrate conference, you might want to order one soon!
If you want to begin teaching your children and grandchildren to love General Conference, this is a great way to start. This notebook helps them find purpose in the listening and is filled with activities and creative ways to make conference successful for kids. The bright colors and fun ideas will make conference something your kids will look forward to.
Take time to show your kids a picture of the Kirtland Temple. Let them draw one of their own. Then talk about all of the promises that were given there.

Here is the new mission prep study guide you may have heard us talk about!
We are so excited about the new tip-ins for this year. Here is what we envisioned when we were creating these… an experience where you can gather with any age group (adults, teens, kids) to have a meaningful discussion once a week. All of the tip-ins for every age group work together to create a lesson experience for every age. Instead of having a separate journal, our hope is that your scriptures will become your journal this year! You can write your notes in the wide margin scriptures, and place this tip-in inside the pages. Created so the whole family could study together, and so that you would end the year with a book of scripture filled with the lessons we all study together.
We will walk you through how to use the tip-ins each week during our lesson. Then you can find a time that works best for your family to study together and do your scripture journaling.
These tip-ins are a combination of facts and context to help you understand each section better, along with questions in worksheet form to allow you to find application from each section in your own life. It’s the best of both worlds written in a format to fit right inside your scriptures so you will never forget the learning from this Doctrine and Covenants year.
