Clean Habits
Developing strong hygiene habits is essential for independence. Good hygiene keeps us healthy, confident, and socially ready. It also helps spot medical issues early, preventing complications. Building these skills is key to living independently and thriving every day.
Oral Care: Brush, floss and rinse to maintain dental health.
Hand Hygiene: Wash hands often, use soap to stay germ-free.
Body & Skin: Shower daily, moisturize and care for your skin.
Hair & Nails: Keep hair and nails clean and trimmed.
Groom & Toileting: Stay neat, smell fresh, wipe thoroughly when using the toilet and wash hands immediately afterwards.
Which hygiene skill do you believe is Forgotten most often?

Staff feedback
"There is always a supervisor at the homes during the day. There were no major concerns. Some of the staff got the agency LSW and the child's person counselor confused. They all spoke of the changes that Legacy has made and all of the training they have."
resident feedback
"When asked what he liked about the agency, one of the youth stated, “How encouraging and caring they are…actually feels safe. Even though it is not home, it is a part of home. It’s somewhere I want to be.” He said that they feel like they're at home. This was repeated by multiple youth."

medication logs
Accurate medication documentation is essential to maintaining resident safety and compliance. Please follow the important procedures outlined below.
Signatures: Ensure all medication logs are signed at the bottom of each sheet.
Initials: Properly initial each medication administered.
Refusals: If a resident refuses medication, mark an “R” on the log. This also requires:
Filing an incident report.
Notifying the home supervisor.
Extended Missed Medications: If a resident goes longer than 48 hours without medication, a licensed professional must provide written instructions on how to safely restart it. Document this on the back of the medication log.
Weekly Checks: Conduct weekly medication reviews to prevent lapses in refills and maintain compliance.
Following these steps ensures proper care, prevents errors, and maintains a safe environment for everyone in our community.
