Wine has always been a big part of my life ( and my liver is probably laughing as I write this!)
When Sam was traveling all the time to San Francisco with Wells Fargo, and I could tag along, I would drive to Napa and Sonoma for the day. My dad owned a shop called The Decanter in Savannah, he would have his distributors set up winery appointments for me. It was great fun, and winery visits are almost always a part of our travels.
Some are better than others, we did visit a winery in the Czech Republic where the bottles were $2 each. Normally not a good sign, but it was very drinkable.
We are in Japan right now, and I was gifted a bottle of Japanese champagne, I will let you know how it is if we open it.

Provence, France
Spring and summer are the sweetspots in Provence: blooming lavender, rosé everywhere, and weather made for long, lazy winery lunches.
Provence pairs perfectly with a river river cruise to hit all the charming towns in the region.
I also have a lovely land itinerary for Provence if this sparks interest.
